Fundamentals of Data Science

AIM Code School and the Omaha Data Science Academy have partnered together to form a certificate designed to teach a person how to do data discovery and data-driven decision making. This is not meant to replace a four-year degree–rather, it is meant to supplement the knowledge of a person who already has a degree and needs a new skill set to position themselves as a data scientist. The graduate will leave the Academy with more confidence and the skills of an entry-level data scientist as they will be taught real-world practices instead of theory. Our graduates will be able to have conversations with business units, build predictive analytical MVPs, and be able to know and manage the skill sets needed for future data scientist projects.

Coding with Python

This class starts introducing computer languages, programming concepts, and critical thinking.  Python is most commonly used in the world of Data Analysis. Upon completion of this course, individuals should have enough knowledge to help maintain certain data analysis applications.

The goal of this class is to introduce growing tech minds to the basics of programming and best practices. To do this we will use python, a language used by programmers, data scientists, and software engineers. Python is an advanced computer language but is good for beginners because it is said to be easy to learn and has easy to write and understand syntax.

Participants will come out of this module with foundational knowledge equivalent to that needed of a data analysis application administrator.

Participants will build a foundation of knowledge on which to further grow programming language knowledge.
